friday marc and kaylee got married! it was a perfectly sweet ceremony and an equally fun celebration to follow. i took only a couple photos during the busy day (they had a pretty awesome photographer to capture all the moments) but i will remember all the snapshots in my head so vividly for a long while. from what i experienced, the wedding and reception were cozy and love-filled and a perfect reflection of these two great folks. i couldn't help but shed happy tears at points before, during, and right after the wedding (oh my)
it was just awesome to be near and watch my brother and one of my closest friends begin their lives together after watching them fall in love more and more over the past years. i'm truly thankful for their loving influence in my life and everyone's lives around them. it is so exciting that now they are going to shine as one - how crazy.
needless to say, kaylee was the most beautiful bride ever and marc is a lucky fella. wishing em happy honeymooning in colorado & joy forever!

the weather the weather! it is so great. i feel like i've been cooped up in cocoons of layers since around november, but this next week is supposed to be in the 50's every day and i am so so so ready for that. the sun is a great friend who will help me not freeze on the way to class. yeeeeee!
i got this new lil dress from stella because i had a groupon. woo. it has a twang of country to it (maybe i was inspired by the decemberists' "the king is dead"? been listening to that an awful lot). it's loose and swingy and cute and i love it.
another recent purchase that i'm excited about is a ticket to fleet foxes for may! AAAH! planning to drive the grand old state of texas after school's out (oh the thought of such a glorious day) to hang out with my sister and see robin pecknold and the fellas put on a show. oh my, oh my.
geeeez i need a job; i am excellent at spending my moneys on things like this. until i get up the courage to apply to places i shall just babysit some cute kiddos.

it's been awhile
slash i deleted this blog for a month ish 'cause i'm not sure how to quite handle having a blog. my general approach is to rarely post and not be super into it.

i may be attempting it yet again - not promising myself or anyone that it will be a great success, though. heh

oh lovely night!
i find myself tonight at my parents' home (not my own anymore, really, it is so weird) sitting on the back porch, listening to the ever-soulful voice and strummy guitar of Sanders Bohlke
the weather is turning to a distinctly autumn temperature - makes me oh so happy.
a good mug of earl grey and the sky slowly dimming, there is only humming of the little bugs in the grass and the soft breeze that makes sitting in cool air seem to be the best possible way for me to spend the evening.
sometimes things are just so lovely to me that it makes my stomach almost hurt - i think that is how happy can sometimes feel? tonight feels happy.
vast sky and birds that go in a row and tea and a chair that rocks back a little and music a tune that makes me feel (and miss and dream), thank you Lord

i was watching she & him on late night talk shows that i had recorded (i love to see bands that i love on shows when they have a new album!) and i couldn't help but admire completely zooey deschanel's dresses. the 60's halter summery party dress sort of style is so cute and i am wondering...if i could possibly sew something like it? i have no idea how to go about it (could i find a pattern for this style somewhere? somebody?) but i feel like the sort of separated halter part would make it a semi-simple dress to create...
then again, not really knowing much about sewing does not bode well for my creative desires. i would really like to try to make a dress like this, though! does anyone have an suggestions for how? huummmm..

is it very wrong that i love sleeping lately?
this week i think i went to bed around 9:30 most every night and it was a beautiful and strange granny-like thing.
i just love hitting the mattress and being warm wrapped in blankets at the end of the day, sooooo nice. and it's much easier to keep my eyes open during class, who knew

one hundred days until graduation.. yeeeees
i now have a definite roomate for next year (possibly three! fantastic roomates! if we get a sweet suite dorm in the new building. wwoow that would be good) and i am so so excited.
next year is just going to be different and fun. even if it's not what's expected, it is no doubt gonna be fun.

dreaming of SUMMER and light layers and sunlight, carefree days and traveling (i've skipped past wishing for spring and gone straight to summer. i am really eager)
i feel like warm weather is on most people's wishlist. am i right? sunsuunnysunsuncomecome

peter pan rehearsal. it is going to be such a magical play, i can just tell. flying and nana and forever young! what's not to love

didn't go to winter formal (it is just not good..not at all). instead, the venue (deeeelicious) with lovely friends, then dancin dancin the night away in our own manner

good amounts of watching olympics with matchu, with pieces of harry potter thrown in, too. ohnoooooooooo! apolo, that is

winter has bogged down my wardrobe spirits lately. i find that in the morning all i want is the same cardigan and jeans plus layers of warmth and coziness, so that's what i usually end up doin. not that interesting. i need the springtime sunshine weather to warm things up!
needless to say, it's been a wonderful (lazy) weekend, not too much homework and no work hours! wonderful.
excited about the nearness of graduation..semi-nearness..and the possibilities that next year holds. oohmy! good things to come i believe. talking about the major i'm going into at school next year (art - spanish minor i'm thinking), i've gotten a lot positive response from others who have said "it's really what you make of it!" and i am convinced i will make good of it and things will be different and a positive thing. excited to be challenged creatively and to develop ideas. yes ooohyes. who knows.

outside it's incredibly gloomy today. i usually enjoy the gray skies but today things just seem awfully dark and gloooomy.. and so i have been inside! knitting (i am relearning..it's all coming back sort of) and watching adam's rib with green tea, pita bread and hummus. mm i love the results of trips to open harvest
this has been an especially great weekend. just some good people and places and times. i start new classes tomorrow and am not really (not at all) looking forward to being back. i don't know, maybe just a little, to keep me busy.
my mind's a bit foggy, to accompany the weather. just a lot of things to try to understand and a lot that i need to get over and have a different perspective on. hm!

this week is finals week for me. i'm done with one of them from the beginning of last week (teachers do what they want!) but now i have a research paper to write for that class. naturally, it's due tomorrow and i am writing a blog post (writing, instead of just posting my photos...clearly i'm stalling) instead of starting, starting, the paper.
i am the queen procrastinator! i need to develop good study habits before school really gets difficult. lazy lazy my my !
but really, a bad case of senioritis has overcome me, a horrible no-good kind of case and the whole logic behind that case seems to make perfect sense to me now! i mean, i am almost done..so very close..and it doesn't matter much anyway. so? (: heh he

i just love urban outfitters' catalogs/collections. the photos lately have been really lovely and a great display of the clothing (which i also love). it's surprising how inspiring a catalog can be.
today i was looking through the new "early spring" UO catalog and it made me ready to be rid of this snowglobe season. i'm not really tired of it, but the lighter layers and flats just sound so enticing right now!
until the sun shows, i suppose i'll stick to these three-layers, boots-and-smart-wools days.

by the way in case you were wondering.. my favorite color is probably something like this (or the color of the three pink-ish dresses above). a light, corally pink.
